We've visited Niagara Falls in the past but never really took the time to get to know this iconic place other than what made it famous - yes, the famous waterfalls that bears the same name.

This time around, we spent 10 beautiful days. You got that right. Someone will quickly say to that - once you've seen the falls, you've seen it all. However, not the case. Aside from just merely viewing the falls, there's actually more to it. First off, get to know the area intimately: from history to rides like the mistride zip lines, the Incline Railway, to boat cruise to the falls, or taking an elevator 125 feet down below the falls towards the tunnels out to behind the falls, at the foot of the falls (prepare to be wet), to cliffside park and promenade, or a 520ft ride on Skylon Tower, to parks and adventures, to shopping and tons of dining options. There's a Shopping Mall/Casino close by (we went there just to shop and eat). The Niagara's Fury virtual/simulation show was also a surprise for us as we actually got wet again - inside the theater! We also reserved one day to explore the U.S. side of the falls. We found it was way better to walk across the Rainbow Bridge towards border customs, and explore that side only to come back again at 10PM for a timely fireworks view from the Rainbow Bridge. What a treat!

However, that's not it yet! There's more adventure that awaits other than falls. The adventure just starts from here - all 56 Kms of it. The White Water board walk, Whirlpool Aero Car (over the whirlpool rapids, literally), nature trails, Botanical Gardens, to the Butterfly Conservatory, the Floral Clock, and Old Fort Erie. Lots of walking here. We've also discovered the convenience of taking the city's WEGO transit which proved to be an excellent service. Get a pass, and just hop and go! Any time!

Our accomodation at Sheraton was excellent as it offered a great view of the falls from our balcony. This "Fallsview" rooms provide excellent vantagepoint from which to enjoy day or night, even greater when the falls are spectacularly illuminated, or watch the nightly fireworks over the falls.
