Wed Aug 27 04:29:20 MDT 2014 - 2014 Ghost Lake Boating

It's already the end of August, summer is almost over and we haven't had the chance yet to take out our boat to the waters ever since our towing vehicle got rear-ended.

Fortunately, parts that were ordered from Germany came early that the bodyshop was able to finish our vehicle weeks ahead of time. That meant we could still salvage our boating season!

Today's forecast calls for a very warm day. We planned to leave work earlier and take out the boat from storage for the very first time this year, prep it right at the lake, then take her out to the waters!

Consider this our very first boating for 2014 boating season!

Sun Aug 3 00:00:00 MDT 2014 - Heritage Day Long Weekend - Another Ride The Week Out - Day 3

Today we will be heading to Kaslo for a surprise Jazz Etc Music Festival. Heading out from Nakusp, we take highway #6 until we hit the junction at New Denver and then head down to Highway #31A. This highway is rated #5 on Destination Highways, winding our way through 46 kilometers on one of the curviest roads in British Columbia.

Every August long weekend, this pretty town of Kaslo in British Columbia hosts their Jazz Etc Summer Music Festival against a background of stunning vistas and pristine wilderness. Musicians perform on a unique floating stage just a little offshore on Kootenay Lake.
